Terms
Who you contract with, what a bid commits you to, where the money sits, and when a sale can be cancelled.
Who runs this site
Unseal is operated by CARBONKITE LTD, a limited company registered in England and Wales. That company is who you contract with.
- Registered name: CARBONKITE LTD
- Company number: to be added
- Registered office: to be added
- Contact: support@unseal.online
The name on your card statement may be the registered company name above rather than Unseal.
Buyers: bidding and payment
- A bid is a binding offer. Placing one authorises your card for that amount; nothing is taken.
- Losing authorisations are released at the reveal. How quickly the amount frees up is your bank's decision, up to 7 days.
- Only the highest bid is charged, at the amount that bidder wrote. If no bid reaches the seller’s reserve the day is unsold and nobody pays.
- Whoever supplied the item, the price is collected by CARBONKITE LTD, and your contract is with CARBONKITE LTD rather than with the seller.
- An item marked “House item” is supplied and dispatched by Unseal itself. There is no third-party seller on those days and the money is not passed on to anyone.
- Every other item is supplied by a seller. CARBONKITE LTD collects and holds the money, and releases it to that seller only once they have evidenced dispatch — so it does not leave us before the item leaves them.
Cancelling and refunds
A distance sale normally carries a 14-day right to cancel. An online-only auction is not a “public auction” for this purpose, so that right applies here — but the two kinds of item work differently.
- Physical items: you may cancel within 14 days of receiving them and get the price back. Return postage is yours unless the item does not match its listing.
- Digital items (codes): when bidding you are asked to tick a box agreeing the code is supplied immediately on winning, and that this gives up the 14-day right. Without that tick the bid is not accepted. Until you redeem it, the right still stands.
- If a code is invalid, already used, or the link fails at unlock: report it within 48 hours and the seller has 24 hours to reissue, failing which you are refunded in full.
- None of this affects your other statutory rights, including where an item is not as described, is faulty, or does not work.
Sellers: the slot fee
- A slot bid is charged when it is placed and is not refundable. It buys the brand’s place and link on the next day’s public board, delivered the moment the bid lands.
- The highest bidder additionally receives the front page for that day and the market report after the reveal. Others keep their place on the board and do not get the day.
- Raising charges the difference only; a bid cannot be lowered. Minimum $1.
- The seller supplies the item or code as described in the listing.
- The price is collected and held by CARBONKITE LTD. The seller claims it by evidencing dispatch — a tracking number, or the record of the code being issued — and it is released once that checks out. Without evidence it is not released.
- If a buyer reports non-delivery or an invalid credential within the stated window and the seller does not put it right in time, the money goes back to the buyer rather than to the seller.
